I found 3 things that cost real estate agents at least 4 transactions last year.
These things that I’m talking about are called red time activities. Now what’s a red time activity?
It’s something that prevents you from green time activities, which is sales activities: Real Estate Conversations, new client conversations, new listing appointments, new buyer consultations… those are green time activities. Green time makes you money, red time stops you from making money or stops you from being in green time.
So these are the 3 biggest things that I found that’s costing you money:
- Chasing clients and other real estate agents for addendums, getting addendums signed or changing the contract.
- Following up on contingencies. How much time do you waste following up with other agents and other clients trying to get those addendums signed.
- And then the third thing is keeping your paperwork in compliance.
I have found that these three things cost real estate agents multiple transactions, at least four per year, let alone all of the other items that you have to do that keep you in red time such as:
- ordering title
- scheduling closings
- following up on paperwork
- ordering HOAs
- C/O inspections
- ordering escrow
- settlement notices
- following up on utilities
